The third and final event of our Summer Tri-Series took place today at Fairways Lodge, with Henry Beach winning the A grade, Spiros Papaglimis winning the B grade, Ethan Cohen winning the C grade and James Barker winning the D grade.
The A grade was a round robin trifecta, with Henry Beach, Gaz Evans and Tom Dwyer all going head to head for the gold. The first match was a right ding dong between the 2 Fairways’ players, Tom taking the first game 11-6 before Gaz won the next 2 both 11-9. Gaz then played Henry, who’s mind was probably on his massive world tour he and his band Larkins embark on this week, but no bother for Henry who beat Gaz 11-8 11-7 before chopping Tom 11-1 11-9.
In the B grade, Spiros took his chance as the number 2 seed to have a good run to the final where he came up against last time out’s B grade winner and number 1 seed George Barker. A close encounter between the two top seeds but Spiros had too much this time winning 11-8 5-11 11-6.
For the C grade final we had Ethan taking on back to back finalist Craig Chisholm, but as with last time his opponent had too much power and control on the key points with Ethan winning 11-5 11-5.
The final of D grade saw James competing against Louis Owen, both had topped their respective round robin groups. James was too strong winning 11-1 11-6. Not only did this see James win the D grade but he also gained enough Series Standing Points to cement himself top of the Overall Series Standing taking home a The Club goodie bag.
Also shoutout to Dylan Hodgson for playing all events of both The Club’s Winter and Summer Tri-Series!!!
Thanks to everyone who played today, hope you all had a good time.
That was The Club’s final Tri-Series event (for now anyways) because we are spreading our horizons with a new brand identity — The Club Series!
