The second event of our Summer Tri-Series took place today at Cheetham Hill, with Josh Taylor winning the A grade, George Barker winning the B grade, Bradley Ashton winning the C grade and Oliver Evans winning the D grade.
The A grade was a round robin set up, with Josh the heavy favourite however a few little scares in his first two matches sneaking the first game against Hayden Tetley 12-10 and then just about beating Gaz Evans 5-11 11-9 11-9. However once Henry Beach finally turned up (from whatever he’d been up to), Josh confirmed himself champ with a dismantling.
In the B grade, George had a good run to the final where he came up against last time out’s B grade winner Josh Underhill. Josh had a couple of match balls in the second game after comfortably taking the first, however some dodgy decisions and George holding his nerve took us a 3rd game which George won 11-9.
For the C grade final we had Bradley taking on Craig Chisholm, big support for Craig in the (dwindling) crowd (last match on) but Bradley had too much winning 11-6 11-6.
The final of D grade saw Oliver competing against Jake Leahey, Oliver rushed to a 1 nil lead winning 11-3 in the first, and then took a very commanding 10-3 lead but with the finish line insight decided to give Jake a chance, and Jake gratefully accepted to bring it back to 10 all, but after a few words of encouragement Oliver eventually took the second game and the win 14-12.
Thanks to everyone who played today, hope you all had a good time.
Quick Fire – Great Fun
