The Wimbledon of squash, the British Junior Open, is the biggest prize in
the game.
Going in we had a great chance with a number of players across the
categories.
Headlining the show was Finn Withington, who took the U19 title in straight
games defeating Jonah Bryant from Brighton. In a very definitive performance
Finn asserted himself early and pushed home the advantage.
It didn’t go without challenges having fought through two five set matches
on his way to the final. Defeating Hamza Khan of Pakistan 3-2 in the semi
finals and previously beating David Bernet of Switzerland in the last 16.
In the girls U17 further success came as Madison Ho, who has been working
through remote work with our Director of Squash, Josh Taylor, took home 1st
place as well. Having worked through game plans throughout the week Madison got
through a 5 game win against the 1 seed from Egypt to make the final before
winning 3-0 in the final.
Well done to both, so proud of your achievement!
