Summer Tri-Series Marple Edition took place today, with some brilliant matches played.

The morning saw our all junior D grade and the C grade take place, the D Grade was a round robin where James emerged victorious having won all 4 of his matches, Ollie Parker gets a notable mention finishing runner-up.

The first round of the C Grade had some very close matches with 3 of 4 going in to a 3rd game. The final was won by Keith beating Andy Brown 11-7 11-5, a great final with lots of great rallies.

I think the best match of the day was the final of the B grade, a win for Josh 13-11 9-11 11-8 against Spiros Papaglimis, so closely contested all the way to the end. Spiros may rue the reverse boast which hit the bottom of the tin while game ball up in the first.

The A Grade Final was won by Carlton against Henry Beach, who turned up late so didn’t step off Court 2 until all 3 of his matches were done, with a very tired Henry missing out 11-7 11-7.
